Sonu Nigam is an Indian playback singer who has come to limelight again because of his controversial tweets against Azaan.
Early in the morning, Sonu Nigam was very upset because a morning azaan that was being played on a loudspeaker woke him up. When he tweeted about it, social media did what it’s best at doing: Outraging.“God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India,” wrote Sonu Nigam on Twitter.
He also added, “And by the way Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam.. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?” The singer was apparently miffed at being woken up early in the morning and went on to say, “I don’t believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity To wake up people who don’t follow the religion . Why then..? Honest? True? Gundagardi hai bus….”
This has created a buzz and hatred against the singer.
