The right-winged government has made yet another controversy by recommending pregnant women to avoid sex, no meat and have pure thoughts in their booklet called Mother and Child Care.

The booklet was released by India’s minister of state for Ayush Shripad Naik in the run-up to International Day for Yoga on June 21. The booklet is compiled by the government-funded Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) under Ayush’s ministry. The council was formed in 2014 to promote Indian traditional healing practices. Experts accuse a group of BJP leaders and Hindu right-wing groups of promoting unscientific theories in healthcare and other areas.
