When national BJP president started his three-day tour to poll-bound Gujarat, nearly 30 members from BJP and 150 from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad left their parties to join Congress.
The members left their respective parties to join Congress in Rajula town of Amreli on Wednesday. The members made a formal entry into Congress in the presence of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Bharatsinh Solanki in Barpatoli village. The former ABVP president, Meghraj Joshi said that their members were feeling stifled in BJP as they were not addressing the issues of the students.
“We had to do our agitations softer since BJP is in power. Whenever we organized some agitation on an issue, we had to wind up immediately after they give their word.” Meghraj Joshi said. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat has drawn up an ambitious plan to win 150 out of the 182 assembly seats in state elections scheduled this year-end. They even code-named their operation as “Mission 150” and Modi is to visit his home state at least once a month until the date of elections.
